Popularization

In Dubrovnik, two cycles of workshops (with different content) on the Dubrovnik idiom were held for primary school students in May and in October, supported by and hosted in the Dubrovnik Libraries. A text from the popular comedy Mare Fjočica by Jozo Lovrić Jadrijevo was offered. The workshops were designed by Dr. Ivana Lovrić Jović, conducted by Nikolina Kuraica, MA in Croatian Language Education, and performed on stage by Croatian language teacher and amateur actress Tajana Martić.

These workshops aim to raise awareness of the Dubrovnik idiom by encouraging students to identify its unique vocabulary, phonology, and syntax. By analyzing historical and contemporary texts, students will explore the evolution of their idiom — from the 16th and 17th centuries, a period that shaped the standardization of Croatian and earned the idiom its status as protected intangible heritage, to the modern form used today.

In Dubrovnik, a cycle of workshops on the Dubrovnik idiom for primary school students was held in December, supported by and hosted in the Dubrovnik Libraries. The workshops were designed by Dr. Ivana Lovrić Jović, conducted by Nikolina Kuraica, MA in Croatian Language Education, and the text was performed on stage by Croatian language teacher and amateur actress Tajana Martić.

These workshops aim to raise awareness of the Dubrovnik idiom by encouraging students to identify its unique vocabulary, phonology, and syntax. Popularization

In Dubrovnik, authored by Ivana Lovrić Jović, PhD, two cycles of workshops on the Dubrovnik dialect for elementary school students were held with the support of and on the premises of the Dubrovnik Libraries. The first one (as the second part of last year’s cycle) was carried out in January under the title Let’s Chat in the Dubrovnik Dialect (Pročakulajmo na dubrovačkome). A text from a satirical newspaper from the beginning of the 20th century was presented, and the phonological, morphological, and lexical levels were analyzed. The second, new two-part cycle began in September under the title Gold or Love (Zlato oli amor), focusing on the lexical level of the text. The workshops are conducted by Nikolina Kuraica, MA in Croatian Education, while the text is performed on stage by Croatian language teacher and amateur actress Tajana Martić.
